Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the structure, systems, and workflows of AI Digital’s planning department, scaling from 40 to 75+ team members by end of year
  • Lead and mentor a team of Group Heads (direct reports), who each oversee planning pods focused on agency and brand clients
  • Ensure operational excellence through clear standard operation procedures (SOPs), automation implementation, and planning process optimization
  • Develop and execute onboarding, hiring, and training programs to maintain planning quality and consistency as the team scales
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Growth, Strategy, Client Success) to ensure planning outputs meet evolving client needs
  • Serve as a process builder and knowledge unifier—aligning teams around shared methodologies, tool usage, best practices, and platform knowledge
  • Lead automation and systemization efforts to reduce turnaround time and increase planner productivity
  • Identify knowledge gaps and continuously improve team fitness
  • Support strategic thinking within planning pods and ensure strong business rationale behind each media recommendation
  • Be client-facing when needed—internally with cross-functional teams, and externally to support planning rationale or key pitch moments
  • Promote a culture of calm under pressure, continuous learning, accountability, and operational discipline

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience in digital media planning, with 5+ years in a senior management role
  • Proven experience managing and scaling teams of 25+ people, ideally up to 50+ in a multi-pod or multi-client structure
  • Strong background in programmatic media with fluency in tools such as DV360, The Trade Desk, and familiarity with DSP/SSP ecosystem
  • Experience building onboarding programs, defining operational processes, and supporting automation initiatives
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills in fluent English (C2 level) 
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams (Growth, Strategy, Product, Client Service) and advocate for planning excellence
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with international stakeholders


Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building automated planning tools or scaling AI/ML-supported planning processes
  • Familiarity with retail media, CTV, or multi-channel planning dynamics, especially for US market
  • Experience supporting the productization of services or internal process documentation at scale
  • Background in agency leadership roles that combined both strategic and operational mandates
